National Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Training (required)

All initial EMS education classes are be required to include this training as part of successful course completion for their students.

Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Course (required)

The video must be completed and the associated test must be successfully passed. The web-based course is available on the Department’s Learning Management System on TRAIN Georgia.

FEMA IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100 (required)

ICS 100, Introduction to the Incident Command System, introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training.

FEMA IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System (required)

This course provides an overview of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The course provides learners with a basic understanding of NIMS concepts, principles, and components.

In addition to Jones & Bartlett Learning, RTI uses Platinum Educational Group’s EMSTesting platform for online testing, exam review, and the official course gradebook. Students use EMSTesting to complete assigned exams, track performance, and prepare for EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic certification exams.

This description, as defined by the Department of Public Health, specifies what a Licensee is legally permitted or prohibited from doing based on their level of licensure.

GA Initial Education Resources

EMS Initial Education Courses are conducted by organizations designated by the Office of EMS and Trauma (OEMST). There are five levels of EMS Initial Education Program Designation EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, and Critical Care Paramedic. All Paramedic programs must also be accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs).
